These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of gethazel.life (the "Site") and the Hazel waitlist. By using the Site or joining the waitlist, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Who may use the Site

You must be at least 18 years old to join the waitlist or use the Site. By using the Site, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. About Hazel and the waitlist

Hazel is a companion phone service designed to let a person call in for conversation and to send a periodic summary to their family. The Site currently offers a waitlist. Joining the waitlist does not create an obligation for us to provide the service to you, and features, availability, and pricing described on the Site may change before launch. Where we offer a price to waitlist members, we will honor the terms stated at the time you join, subject to these Terms.

3. Not a medical, emergency, or crisis service

Hazel is not a medical device and does not provide medical, health, or emergency care. It is not a substitute for professional care, emergency services, or a crisis helpline. In an emergency, or if someone is in crisis, contact emergency services or a crisis helpline immediately.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Site, including by attempting to disrupt it, access it without authorization, submit false information, or use it in violation of any law.

5. Intellectual property

The Site and its content — including text, graphics, logos, and the Hazel name and mark — are owned by Hazel or its licensors and are protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute them without our permission.

6. Disclaimers

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hazel and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from or related to your use of the Site.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when we post the revised Terms and update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Site means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
